A Pico de Loro weekend itinerary
A relaxed two-night plan for a long weekend inside the cove — arrive, settle in, and let the days unfold.
Before you go
How this itinerary works
This is a loose two-night plan built around a stay in one of our suites inside Pico de Loro Cove, on Hamilo Coast. Treat every time below as a suggestion rather than a schedule — the whole point of a weekend here is to slow down.
A little context makes the days easier to picture. Check-in is typically from 2 to 4 PM and check-out is at 12 noon, so most guests arrive on a Friday afternoon and leave after a slow Sunday morning. The resort entrance fee is one-time and valid for seven days, which means a single payment covers the whole weekend — there is no need to count days.
- Friday · Arrive and settle
- Check in, unpack, and ease into the first afternoon by the water.
- Saturday · The full day
- Beach and pool in the morning, a sport or a paddle later, a slow evening.
- Sunday · Slow checkout
- One more swim before a 12 noon check-out and the drive home.
Day one
Arrival and the first afternoon
Aim to leave Manila with the morning, so the drive is behind you before the heat peaks. Our guide on getting to Pico de Loro walks through the Cavitex–CALAX–Ternate route and the Tagaytay–Nasugbu alternative, along with the resort gate and where the entrance fee is paid.
Check-in from around 2 PM gives you time to settle into the suite, cool off, and step onto the balcony before anything else. If you like, keep the first afternoon gentle — a first walk to the cove beach, a swim as the light softens, and the sunset from the sand or your own balcony.
For dinner, the cove and wider Hamilo Coast have a handful of outlets across the hotel, the Country Club and the beach. Some are reserved for members and their accompanied guests, and hours shift with the season, so message us and we will tell you what is open to you — our guide on where to eat in Pico de Loro lays out the choices. Both suites also have full kitchens if a quiet night in sounds better after the drive.
Day two
The full day
With the whole day ahead, mornings are for the water. If you like, start at the cove beach while it is cool and quiet, then move to the Country Club pool later — there is a kids' pool with a slide alongside it. The shuttle runs from 6 AM to 10 PM, so nobody has to walk far between the beach, the pool and the buildings.
Around the middle of the day, when the sun is high, the covered options come into their own. The entrance fee covers the gym and sports facilities — tennis, basketball, bowling, volleyball and table tennis — and kayak and jet-ski rentals exist through the resort if you want time on the water. Our guide on things to do in Pico de Loro covers the full range.
Leave the late afternoon loose. A nap, a book on the balcony, another swim as the day cools — a weekend here rewards doing a little less. The suites have fast fiber WiFi and Disney+ already signed in for downtime, and the balcony is a fine place to watch the light change.
Day three
A slow checkout morning
Sunday is for one last easy morning. Check-out is at 12 noon, which leaves room for a final swim or a quiet coffee before you pack. If you like, take an early walk to the beach while it is still cool, then rinse off and load the car with the whole morning behind you.
Message us ahead if you would like to know what is possible around your departure time, and we will do what we can to keep the morning unhurried. Then it is the drive home, with the entrance fee already behind you and nothing left to settle on the way out.
Make it yours
For couples and for families
The same two nights bend easily to who is travelling. A couple can lean quieter; a family will build the days around the pool.
For a couple, the weekend leans slow. The Boutique Suite is styled corner to corner, with a balcony that faces the sunset squarely over the water — an easy place to trade a busy evening for a still one. Time the beach for early morning and late afternoon, keep the middle of the day for the pool or the balcony, and let dinner be unhurried.
With children, the shape shifts. The kids' pool and its slide tend to win the day, the shuttle spares little legs the walk, and the calm cove beach is easy to keep an eye on. The Family Suite is our widest layout, in the building closest to the beach, and sleeps six — with side-by-side units for larger groups. Our guide to Pico de Loro with kids has the full rundown for travelling as a family.
Good questions
Frequently asked
How many days do you need for Pico de Loro?
A two-night weekend is the comfortable sweet spot — enough time to settle in, enjoy a full beach day, and still have an unhurried checkout morning. The entrance fee is one-time and valid for seven days, so a longer stay adds no extra entry cost.
Can we do Pico de Loro as a day trip instead?
You can, but the drive from Manila each way makes a single day feel tight. Since the entrance fee is one-time and valid for seven days, an overnight in one of our suites gives you far more beach and pool time for the same entry.
What time can we check in and check out?
Check-in is typically from 2 to 4 PM and check-out is at 12 noon. If you have an early arrival or want a slower morning, message us ahead and we will let you know what is possible for your dates.
What is there to do over a weekend?
Most weekends revolve around the cove beach and the Country Club pool, with a kids' pool and slide, plus sports like tennis, basketball, bowling and table tennis. Kayak and jet-ski rentals exist through the resort, and the shuttle runs from 6 AM to 10 PM so you are never walking far.
Where do we eat during the weekend?
The cove and wider Hamilo Coast have several dining outlets across the hotel, Country Club and beach. Some are reserved for members and their accompanied guests, and lineups shift seasonally, so message us and we will tell you what is open to you during your stay. Both suites also have full kitchens if you would rather cook in.
