Getting to Pico de Loro
Car routes, public transport, and what to expect when you reach the gate.
Quick answer
Where Pico de Loro is
Pico de Loro Cove sits within Hamilo Coast, in Nasugbu, Batangas, on the western tip of the country south of Metro Manila. It is a gated seaside community, so the final approach runs through resort gates rather than a public road to the sand.
From Metro Manila it is typically about a 2.5 to 3.5 hour drive, depending on traffic and the route you take. Our two apartments, the Boutique Suite and the Family Suite, are both inside the cove, so once you are through the gate you are almost home.
By private car
The two usual routes
Driving is the simplest way to arrive, and it gives you a car for the drive down to the cove. Two routes are standard, and most map apps will offer both.
- Cavitex – CALAX – Ternate
- The most direct line for most trips. Take Cavitex, connect to CALAX, then head through Ternate and on toward Nasugbu and the Hamilo Coast turnoff. Expect roughly two and a half to three and a half hours in normal conditions.
- Tagaytay – Nasugbu
- A scenic alternative that drops down from the Tagaytay ridge toward Nasugbu. It can be a pleasant change of pace, though the mountain descent is slower going. A good option if you would like to stop in Tagaytay along the way.
Times are loose by nature — weekend and holiday traffic out of Manila can add a fair amount, so it is worth leaving early. If you would like us to confirm the current best route for your travel day, just message us.
By bus and public transport
Travelling without a car
It is possible to reach the area by public transport. Buses run from Metro Manila terminals toward Nasugbu, Batangas, and from there onward transport covers the last stretch to the cove.
Because schedules, operators and the final connection into the resort change from time to time, we would rather point you to what is accurate on your travel day than publish something that goes stale. Message us before you set out and we will walk you through the current options, including the most reliable way to cover the last leg.
